After 18 years of graduation and not knowing what everybody has been through
after graduation, there came a day when some courageous people of 82-87
session arranged & invited all others to share their experiences of
all these years. It was warm winter evening of 25th of December 2005,
when more than 65 class fellows including at least six girls
gathered in the halls of Chenab Club to share their life stories after
leaving the college. The premises chosen suited the occasion due to its
representation of the rich culture of this vibrant city of Faisalabad.
Chenab club represents the true flavour of Faisalabad & has close
association with the Punjab Medical College.

At about 1 oclock people started to arrive, there were warm hugs
and occasional vows on seeing each other after such a long time. Certainly
everyone recognised each other but some reminding of the real names was
required where age related nominal aphasia was inevitable and certain
disbelief in the change of persona surprised others. Most people met each
other for the first time after departing from the alma mater.
The meeting started with the recitation
of the verses from the Holy Quran by Dr Mazhar Jhangvi. The hosts welcomed
everyone and asked all participants to share their experiences and achievements
of the last eighteen years. To this most responded with their educational
and professional achievements mixed with their marital life. It was satisfying
to know that all except Dr Liaqat Shah were monogamous. There were few
bachelors and marital achievement award was won by Dr Anwer Ch who proudly
announced his success in becoming film star Ranis son-in-law.
After a lavish dinner old times were back every body joked and laughed,
old grievances were forgotten and promises were made to keep in touch.
The warmth of the winter sunshine was truly matched by the spirits of
the participants. Soon it was getting dark and people started looking
at their watches especially those who travelled from Sahiwal, Wah cantt,
Pindi Islamabad and Mianwali. Every one hurriedly exchanges their visiting
cards and hugged again to say good bye and promised to be at the same
place same time next year. Organisers Drs Mohammad Asif, Sheikh Sajid,
Mian Mansoor, Hashmat Rao and Khurram (Sanghara) deserve special thanks
for arranging such a memorable and emotional get together.
