An introduction to PMCOSA
"Punjab Medical
College Old Students' Association" came into being in 1999. The
idea of a common platform sprouted in the minds of those graduates who
came to United Kingdom for postgraduate studies in early 90s. Amongst
the founders of this society were Dr. Khalid Naeem and Dr. Mian Zubair
Ahmed. Other graduates of the same session immediately appreciated this
idea. Many other senior as well as junior PMC graduates supported the
idea of getting together on a single platform. By 1999 most of the graduates
had accomplished their goals in their relevant fields and by then they
had their families who felt the needed of friendly relationship on a
family level.
The society was established during a get-together on 25th September
1999 in Pakistan Community Centre, Stockport Manchester. Since 1999,
this society continues to provide oppertunities to develop communication
amongst PMC graduates at personal and family levels. Clinical knowledge
and experiences are also exchanged in the view of promoting better career
and resolve difficult issues. The society aims to extend its support
from within its resources to other graduates of Punjab Medical College.
